transform a metal in Gold [0:07] you have to put it under pressure like [0:10] you do with diamonds and rocks and [0:13] humans are the same we need to go [0:15] through fire to get to the best version [0:17] of ourselves I used to flatten myself to [0:21] match this environment and I decided you [0:24] know what down with it so I started [0:27] showing up with colorful outfits I [0:30] started showing up with my Italian [0:34] accent I started showing up with my bold [0:37] statements hey everybody I'm Devin kums [0:40] I'm a CPA MBA and I work at Google Cloud [0:43] Where I Leave she [1:12] encourages others to reflect on [1:14] themselves find their passion and [1:16] transform their careers please watch [1:18] please subscribe and I think we're going [1:20] to get a ton out of today's episode if [1:22] you're interested in transforming your [1:24] career through reflection and defining [1:27] your vision what would you say would was [1:30] your biggest motivation for all of the [1:33] Transformations you've had over your [1:34] career thank you for the question very [1:37] deep one I would [1:39] say when I think about what motivates [1:44] humans there are so many reasons they [1:46] can be laid out there right somebody [1:49] might just want success other people [1:51] might want more money when I think about [1:55] me I was always I was always driven by [1:59] an unwar in [2:00] ambition something that was [2:05] uncontrollable and those in the [2:07] spiritual industry like I am that really [2:10] poke around what's more than just life [2:14] my say that is about life purpose like I [2:17] fundamentally believe that all the [2:20] things that happened to me happened for [2:22] a reason and it's almost like there was [2:25] this invisible hand driving me and [2:28] showing me the way I mean listen I grew [2:30] up in an island 12 you know 12,000 [2:34] people nobody in my family had brilliant [2:38] careers I was surrounded by farmers and [2:41] it's not that I had these examples that [2:44] we could say oh my God you know I want [2:46] to be like them I mean my mom was [2:48] probably a little bit one of the [2:50] precursors because she was already in [2:52] sales but I was always pulled by [2:57] something inside [3:00] that was literally whispering to my ears [3:03] there's something more and you you must [3:06] use your powers to get there and see [3:10] what happens if that makes [3:12] sense yeah so how did you hear that [3:15] voice or I guess like I'm trying to [3:17] think of someone in the audience or what [3:21] is a way that they can tune into that or [3:23] how did you tune into that voice because [3:25] that's so interesting right that that [3:26] there's something driving you beyond [3:30] what was in front of you or modeled for [3:32] you in your life there was something [3:33] whispering in your ear how do you how [3:35] did you tune into that yeah well you [3:39] know initially when I was younger let's [3:42] say around my My Teenage [3:46] life uh that voice I I like to call it [3:49] was a voice of hope I know you can [3:53] relate to this but when at the time I [3:55] didn't have what I have [3:57] today the voice of Hope was showing me [4:01] that there was something more that I [4:02] could aspire to and actually I said [4:06] something in our conversation with a [4:08] friend I do remember very vividly being [4:11] 16 years old and being able to access [4:13] the internet and stumbling across Steve [4:17] Jobs Stanford commencement speech when [4:20] he was saying stay hungry and stay [4:22] foolish and those four words stayed with [4:26] me forever back then because because I [4:31] really was feeling that hunger and that [4:34] foolishness to go something beyond what [4:37] I [4:38] had in time other voices that were [4:43] whispering to me were sometimes [4:46] desperation when I was facing huge life [4:50] challenges the voice of desperation [4:53] would whisper to me hey you need to get [4:55] out of here or hate or something more or [4:58] you need to fight for your SA [5:00] and then you know later in [5:02] life the voice that started whispering [5:05] to me was more a voice of love a voice [5:08] of empowerment and even at times a voice [5:11] of forgiveness now going back to your [5:13] original question how do I eventually [5:16] started listening to that more is by [5:19] getting [5:20] quieter and by getting uh with myself a [5:24] lot more you know nowadays everybody [5:26] speaks about meditation um nowadays uh [5:30] there's a lot of talk about connecting [5:32] to your inner Spirit connecting to your [5:34] inner self what I [5:37] found made the trick for me is that I've [5:40] always been a very Avid [5:42] journaler I retrieved some of my [5:45] journals from when I was a teenager as [5:47] I'm writing my Memoir and it really [5:50] stunned me that already then I was [5:54] connecting with this force that [5:57] eventually was my inner Force and and [6:00] talking and unpacking and unpacking [6:02] aligning with what my highest purpose we [6:05] so I really encourage the listeners of [6:07] this podcast to create space for [6:10] yourself and quieting the word around to [6:16] you know tune in with your louder inner [6:20] voice I I love it so I want to make sure [6:23] I'm hearing this right if I play back at [6:25] you it's almost reflection right it's [6:28] that that pen grab that pen allowed you [6:30] to connect and actually listen to that [6:33] voice if I and that's sparked your [6:36] transformation or at least made it go [6:39] faster I is that am I on the right track [6:42] here yeah there's many way of calling it [6:44] right some people call it [6:47] intuition some people call it spiritual [6:50] guidance according to your line of [6:54] interest in life y you can call it in [6:57] many different ways can be reflection [7:00] obviously others they call it [7:03] Consciousness but is absolutely creating [7:06] the space either by yourself or aided by [7:10] a therapist or aided by a coach or aided [7:12] by a friend as well to untangle what's [7:16] in your mind and untangle what is in [7:19] your heart and then say okay well this [7:22] is where I'm going and and this is how I [7:24] want to be the largest um and bigger [7:27] version of myself now I don't want to [7:29] sugar coat that is painful when four [7:32] years ago I had my latest let's say [7:36] transformation and what I call my [7:38] Spiritual [7:39] Awakening was extremely painful you need [7:42] to face your demons you need to face [7:44] your [7:45] pains it's almost like Alchemy in order [7:48] to transform a metal in Gold you have to [7:51] put it under pressure like you do with [7:54] diamonds and rocks and humans are the [7:57] same we are the same uh we need to go [8:00] through fire to get to the best version [8:02] of ourselves and heal and so for me when [8:05] I think about personal [8:07] transformation is about doing the hard [8:09] work and allowing yourself to see [8:13] through who you really are and who do [8:16] you want to be if that makes sense yeah [8:19] it makes perfect sense and I'm I'm [8:21] curious how did you figure out who you [8:24] wanted to be like how did you set that [8:26] intention after reflecting the two to me [8:30] there seem like two very different [8:32] aspects of who who am I but then what am [8:35] I working [8:36] towards beautiful question I'll I'll [8:39] share a little story that was the [8:42] Catalyst [8:43] for these specific moment in [8:48] time so we all went through covid and we [8:51] all went [8:52] through some rough more or less days [8:55] some people loved it more than others [8:57] some people had ginormous mansions that [8:59] they can quarantine into other people [9:02] like me were in two-bedroom apartments [9:04] with very young kids um some people were [9:06] working from moms and people were able [9:09] no to so everybody went through [9:10] different flavors and shades of that and [9:13] at the time I had just moved to New York [9:16] with my family from Italy I had a 9 [9:18] month old and a two years old um uh kid [9:23] or baby a toddlers I don't even know how [9:25] to call them but let's say two very [9:27] challenging individuals that I needed to [9:29] deal would called my daughters and I was [9:33] new to New York I had taken the decision [9:35] to move from Italy so it was a very big [9:38] decision right and I was taking work [9:42] very seriously as I always do and do you [9:45] remember at the time uh we were all [9:48] remote at Google I was joining calls as [9:51] early as a and I was working until 6:00 [9:54] p.m. I was grinding so much when I think [9:57] about it I don't even understand why I [9:59] was being so intense with myself but [10:02] that's how I was and I started observing [10:07] some of my behaviors I was always so [10:10] angry I was so upset I didn't have what [10:14] I used to have when in in my Google [10:16] career that I would travel and meet [10:18] people and I'm a extroverted introvert [10:22] so I do love being with people to a [10:24] certain extent you know I love going to [10:26] the office and really helps with my [10:28] well-being and all of [10:31] that [10:32] and after few months of these grinding I [10:37] remember was around January 2021 so [10:41] winter was so cold we couldn't go out [10:45] and I started having daily meltdowns I [10:47] remember writing in my journal that I [10:49] was upset at everybody I was upset with [10:51] my husband I was upset with my kids I [10:53] was screaming with everybody it was like [10:55] awful all over the [10:57] place and uh one day I was with my [11:00] therapist because I was like you know I [11:02] need I need to start seeing someone this [11:03] is overwhelming I can't get out of it [11:06] and I was seeing my therapist at Google [11:09] we have all these incredible benefits [11:11] and I said listen this this is going on [11:13] this this is going on and you know she [11:15] was asking me questions about my family [11:17] and you know unpacking a lot of the [11:19] traumas and all of [11:21] that and she goes well listen as a mom [11:24] you really need to take care of of this [11:27] she was like you you can't continue this [11:29] way for your kids I mean this could [11:32] result in scrutiny and even getting your [11:36] kids away at some point like you really [11:37] need to get you know you're acted [11:40] together in a way and that for me was [11:43] the Rock Bottom I was like I can't [11:46] continue like this I I really need to [11:50] find a way out and I started turning [11:55] Inward and I started exploring what else [11:58] is there that I could could [11:59] do and I started prioritizing myself you [12:03] know I started saying no to people and I [12:05] said I really need to get out of this [12:08] loophole like I I felt it was in a dark [12:11] tunnel and I decided to hire a lifestyle [12:15] coach um you know Mesa was incredible [12:20] and she gave me permission to look my [12:23] nightmares in the face and she gave me [12:27] permission to stand up for myself self [12:30] heal and start a very long journey of [12:33] Spiritual Awakening so I know it's a lot [12:36] so I'm going to [12:37] pause but this is how it all begin no [12:41] and thank you for sharing and I [12:43] completely understand I had a young [12:45] child during Co too my daughter as well [12:47] and so it's interesting I'm thinking [12:50] about how you said to make diamonds you [12:52] need pressure and it sounded like to me [12:56] that was the environment that you were [12:58] in where you finally maybe were on [13:01] autopilot for a bit and doing what was [13:04] natural to you grinding at work at this [13:06] high level of success and then this [13:08] extra pressure comes in of covid it [13:10] seems like life throws everything at you [13:11] covid young kids small apartment I live [13:14] in the bay we had a small place too it's [13:16] like the perfect recipe for just being [13:18] under pressure and it sounds like you're [13:20] coming out transform transformatively on [13:23] the other side of it [13:25] and what [13:27] was what was was that moment that got [13:31] you to commit to going to a lifestyle [13:34] coach that got you to see the other side [13:37] of it was it something from your past [13:39] that of a reflection from your past or [13:41] was it an intention you set for the [13:45] future you know what I did back then is [13:48] that I looked back in my life and I [13:51] looked back at [13:53] the all the achievements and all of the [13:56] grinding and all of the success that I [13:58] had achieved [14:00] and I looked at the Young self that I [14:02] was it's funny because it's coming to my [14:05] mind the image of Jennifer Lopez movie [14:07] the one where she uh goes and meet her [14:10] younger self and she asks her and she [14:12] cries but it was pretty much like that [14:15] it was pretty much a moment where I [14:18] looked back and I said wow I didn't I [14:21] didn't arrive this far for [14:24] nothing after even moving to New York I [14:27] mean I I lived in countries I traveled [14:30] the world and had this two wonderful [14:34] babies a wonderful husband I looked at [14:36] my life I I transcended myself for a few [14:39] moments and I said I got to do something [14:42] I can't waste all of this these are [14:45] things that people dream of these are [14:48] things that I myself have always dreamed [14:50] of these are things that I had planned I [14:54] had manifested for myself that I made [14:56] happen for myself and I how silly would [14:59] it be to waste it all just for not [15:03] taking ownership of my flaws and fixing [15:06] them and so in that moment when I was [15:08] unpacking with my [15:10] coach I said I got to do something I I [15:14] got to go back to protecting all the [15:17] greatness that I have and I got to do [15:20] something to really get out of this hump [15:24] this ginormous hump and funnily enough [15:27] what really helped me to get the courage [15:29] where the feedback from my audience you [15:32] know I was already out there I that was [15:35] the moment where when I was sharing on [15:37] social media some of my pain and [15:41] um there were so many people rooting for [15:44] me there were so many people that were [15:47] reaching out saying hey thanks for your [15:49] work we get courage thanks to your [15:53] example we have hope and I remember [15:57] having a conversation with mess I B in [15:59] my coach and I said wait a [16:02] moment I said I think that this is my [16:04] life purpose like if all of this is [16:07] floating my way if all of this is coming [16:10] my way that means that I have the [16:13] responsibility to rise and stand up as [16:16] an example for many others at the time I [16:19] was gifting coaching session to [16:21] googlers and um I remember every week I [16:24] was seeing you know three four people to [16:26] support it was my way to help the people [16:28] through covid and people were inundating [16:33] me with messages on how even 15 minutes [16:37] with me were shaping their day how [16:40] thanks to something that I had said they [16:42] were getting more courage so all of [16:46] that really contributed to give me the [16:49] courage to say you know [16:51] what I got to rise I can't put myself in [16:54] a corner my mission in this world is [16:57] more than that I got to use my voice is [16:59] to lift others as I lift myself and make [17:02] an impact into the [17:05] planet wow that's I mean that's huge to [17:08] go from you're already so successful at [17:10] Google but then using this moment of [17:12] pressure to actually start making some [17:15] actions it sounds like you were taking [17:17] actions on sharing your story which [17:19] requires a lot of vulnerability and it's [17:20] not an easy to press that button right [17:23] and start sharing how intense these [17:26] emotions can be right and and sounds [17:29] like people leaned into that and really [17:31] understood it and it motivated you so [17:33] I'm hearing like about Connections [17:34] leading into your character and [17:36] authenticity what were some of the first [17:39] behaviors that you started to do to head [17:42] down this New [17:46] Path yeah I remember very clearly that [17:49] one of the first thing I did was really [17:53] leaning [17:55] into my real self which I no sounds a a [17:59] little bit weird but let me unpack it [18:04] you know until then I was very corporate [18:07] like very serious very organized you [18:10] know [18:11] operationally everything I was the [18:15] epitome of perfection I would say and [18:19] even even if inside I was feeling like [18:22] exhausted or that I needed a break and [18:25] things like that so the number one thing [18:27] that I did was showing up more [18:30] authentically like start starting to [18:33] being open about my flaws and my [18:36] challenges and sharing with people hey [18:39] you know what I'm having a bad day or [18:42] hey you know what like things are a [18:45] little on the wrong side today you know [18:47] I'm extremely Moody I was diagnosed with [18:51] gener GDA which is general anxiety and [18:54] for all the women listening to this of [18:56] being diagnosed with pmdd which is this [18:59] uh premenstrual depression so mental [19:01] health is something that for me is very [19:04] high in the list of things that I care [19:06] for and I started talking about it with [19:08] people and say you know what it's okay [19:11] if you're having a day so really leaning [19:13] into the authentic Spirit um very much [19:16] ber Brown was one thing that I did and [19:19] then the second thing that I did is I [19:21] gave myself permission to be [19:24] Nadia which I know it might sound weird [19:27] but I like Google I'm in Tech so I deal [19:33] with data measurement analytics topics [19:36] which most of the time translate in [19:38] being in a rooms of male that are [19:40] dressing in black and white and they're [19:43] not very Smiley and I am typically the [19:46] female factor and I used to flatten [19:49] myself to match this [19:52] environment and I decided you know what [19:55] done with it so I started showing up [19:58] with colorful outfits I started showing [20:01] up with my Italian accent I started [20:05] showing up with my bold [20:08] statements and I remember so well one [20:11] day there was a CEO of my client you [20:14] know I service a very large client [20:17] globally and uh he approached me and he [20:20] said Nadia when you're in the room [20:23] everything shines and you bring such eye [20:27] energy and eye vibration [20:29] that it's such a pleasure to do business [20:31] with [20:32] you and I was like wow you know be [20:36] myself is giving so many upsides to [20:39] everybody out there and so by leaning in [20:44] into what really was I was like okay you [20:47] know let's do it there you know I show [20:49] up in sequence and Feathers sometimes [20:51] and meetings and and that makes [20:53] everybody happy and then the third thing [20:55] that I [20:56] did I said you know what I'm just going [20:59] to be out there and so the two tactical [21:03] things that I started doing well three [21:05] tactical things I started being more [21:07] outspoken on social [21:09] media I was like you know what I have [21:11] nothing to lose so let's do it I created [21:15] a podcast of my own with a with a Google [21:17] friend to talk about human [21:20] leadership and I built my website coming [21:22] out of the closet as an intuitive person [21:25] that loves spirituality and esoteric [21:28] things and and giving space to all of [21:31] this in the corporate environment to [21:33] really help people to connect with your [21:36] purpose because I believe that in our [21:39] corporate environment we have the [21:42] responsibility to be more than just [21:45] technology we have the responsibility to [21:48] create environment that are uplifting [21:51] for everybody because we spend so much [21:53] time at work like we spend two-thirds of [21:55] our days so what are we doing you know [21:58] we need to build an environment where [22:01] people can be happy show up and be the [22:04] best version of themselves and so for a [22:07] for a moment in time I used to have this [22:09] tagline on LinkedIn which was I [22:11] transform lives and Corporation to [22:14] generate Z for [22:15] life and I'm like that's what that's [22:18] what it is you know that's what we're [22:20] here to do we're all here to live our [22:22] life that is fulfilling and Corporation [22:25] must to be must be part of it and have [22:27] an active [22:30] role all this stuff is resonating so [22:32] deeply with me and it's so amazing what [22:34] you did and I love the word zeal like [22:36] passion comes to mind or and it sounds [22:39] like that's what you did and I think [22:40] what's really interesting it it reminds [22:43] me a bit of what I'm been going through [22:44] recently it's so easy to kind of once [22:47] you go to the corporate mold to try to [22:48] fit the mold because it leads to success [22:51] right but then at some point everyone's [22:53] living as copies of each other it's like [22:55] AI or social media right everyone's just [22:57] a chat GPT excerpt of another person and [23:02] just by being yourself being authentic [23:04] you weren't saying you were working less [23:05] you weren't saying that you were [23:06] changing up your strategies there at all [23:08] it just you started being yourself more [23:11] and that was your differentiator that's [23:13] what was your Niche it no one else can [23:15] be you right you're unapologetically you [23:18] and that is so awesome and important for [23:20] people to hear that that might be the [23:22] Catalyst for career [23:24] transformation right is just be yourself [23:27] so here's a here's a dooy for you how do [23:30] you be more of yourself how did you go [23:33] through that [23:34] Journey yeah this is a very good [23:37] question I mean [23:42] listen is a lot harder to be [23:47] yourself than a washed up version of [23:50] somebody [23:52] else especially if you are someone that [23:56] has veryable old [24:00] ideas a differentiated way of showing up [24:03] you know I'm an immigrant in [24:05] America my accent is far from perfect I [24:09] presented yesterday in front of our [24:11] president at Google and everybody made [24:13] fun of me for how I pronounce [24:16] automobile which still today like H [24:18] that's a terrible word for me to [24:20] say and you know I'm Italian I'm a [24:24] little louder than the average like I I [24:26] carry with me I vibrate ational energy [24:29] that cannot be ignored like when I'm in [24:32] a room you know that I'm in the room [24:34] even if I'm quiet like it it exudes from [24:37] my body and and so it it's a little hard [24:41] to be that because you can't hide and [24:44] when you try to hide then things don't [24:47] go in the direction and they need to go [24:49] and my biggest encouragement to people [24:52] that are on the journey especially those [24:55] that are early in their careers you know [24:58] yes spoke with this uh students from a [25:01] college is take the time to fully unpack [25:07] what makes [25:09] you what are the traits in my book that [25:13] I will be publishing this summer there's [25:15] a wonderful exercise that I've wrote [25:17] which is about spending time to find [25:21] your extraordinary signator Zeals I call [25:25] it which means those traits those those [25:29] aspects those [25:32] behaviors that make you and this morning [25:37] I was in a meeting for example and when [25:41] they were talking I had this [25:44] download that was like well Nadia what [25:47] what is it for you being you like when [25:50] you are in your Genius Zone here's a [25:53] question that you can ask yourself when [25:54] you are in your Genius Zone that you [25:58] feel you are in the flow that you feel [26:01] you are align that you feel you good at [26:03] all what is it that you're doing and for [26:06] me the answer was I'm using my [26:10] voice I'm using my voice to uplift [26:13] others I'm using my voice to help others [26:15] I'm using my voice to transform the word [26:18] around [26:19] me and I said okay if using my voice is [26:23] what I do when I'm in my genius Zone [26:26] what does that mean for for a work [26:28] perspective for [26:30] example it my means that I cannot be in [26:32] a role where I just need to write code [26:35] or I just need to feel trixes right I [26:36] need to be in roles where I can use my [26:39] voice and so these are some of the [26:41] questions that you can start asking [26:43] yourself either in a self-reflecting way [26:46] or with a coach or with a friend there [26:48] are so many self-help books out there [26:51] that you can leverage but really [26:53] meditating on this concept of what are [26:57] the things that you're doing when you [26:58] are in your Genius Zone what do people [27:01] say about you still is always one of my [27:05] favorite and what are the things that [27:08] are also painful for you and the reason [27:11] why I typically ask myself that is [27:14] because we say yes to too many things [27:17] that are not aligned with our genius [27:19] Zone and the reason why we say yes is [27:22] because we don't spend the time [27:24] understanding what is it that is a pain [27:26] for us and so we get carried away and we [27:29] just say yes so by fully understanding [27:32] what is painful for [27:34] you you are able to develop a faster [27:37] reaction to the things that you need to [27:39] say no [27:40] because part of the critical step that [27:44] everybody needs to do [27:46] more is what I call protecting your Zeal [27:49] or shielding yourself from what I call [27:52] Energy [27:53] vampires these are people these are [27:55] activity these are things that are [27:58] coming your way the news for example [28:01] certain social media content certain [28:04] movies all things that are just [28:07] draining your powers so by actively [28:11] spending time to do these practices you [28:14] know I self- coach myself every day I I [28:17] took my first coaching certification in [28:20] 2019 and since then not not only I have [28:24] coaches that work with me but I continue [28:27] to self- coach myself [28:28] constantly because by developing the [28:31] awareness of all these things that I [28:33] shared above you develop the ability to [28:38] adjust your behavior awareness is Step [28:40] number one adjustment is Step number two [28:42] and step number three is reiteration of [28:44] the positive reinforcement so I know I I [28:47] throw it a lot in there I'm going to [28:49] pause uh but this is definitely a very [28:51] meaty topic that I'm super passionate [28:53] about well it's it's awesome and I feel [28:56] like I can talk to you for hours because [28:58] everything I'm looking into right now is [28:59] so similar to what you're exploring and [29:02] what I think is really fascinating is we [29:06] demand or you're challenge to everyone [29:08] to really dive in and understand [29:11] themselves and that takes time you're [29:13] not saying it's easy and I find the same [29:15] I do coaching at Google too and I do a [29:17] lot of external events and I'm finding a [29:20] lot of people will come to me and say [29:21] I'm trying to get a job at Google or I'm [29:24] trying to get a job or I'm trying to get [29:25] a promotion and if you ask them why like [29:28] what what's driving you so many people [29:30] haven't done that exploration and they [29:32] don't want to it's really tough to just [29:34] start digging under the surface and it [29:36] sounds like your book is going to be an [29:37] amazing tool to help explore that more [29:41] and so I'm curious I want you to [29:42] continue because it's just so [29:43] fascinating you talked about iterating [29:45] it sounded like or iterating on your [29:47] positive positivity what did you say [29:49] there and what what does that look like [29:51] on for someone specifically let's say [29:53] trying to find the right next job for [29:56] them similar to you starting to publish [29:58] out outside of just working at [30:01] Google [30:04] yeah look my one of my values one of my [30:08] life [30:09] beliefs is that the word is made of [30:14] vibrational [30:16] forces you know I'm one of those that [30:19] believes in the secret I'm one of those [30:21] that reads and studies Deepak Chopra but [30:23] I'm also one of those that listens to Dr [30:25] uberman Dr James doie I'm one of those [30:29] that reads atle and Wayne Dyer and all [30:32] of these right those are like my best [30:35] virtual friends in a way and and the [30:38] reason why is that I tested it on my [30:41] skin I tested it on my life I went back [30:44] here's a fun [30:46] fact I went back to one of my uh life [30:51] planning documents that I've written in [30:54] 2013 so I'm talking about 12 years ago [30:59] and you know I found it in my [31:02] drive and I'm looking at the things that [31:04] I'm written that I wanted to achieve and [31:06] the goals that I was setting for myself [31:08] 15 years from then and I'm like this is [31:12] not possible like this is so crazy I was [31:16] already manifesting back then the things [31:18] that I wanted to attract in my life and [31:20] for some reason everything happened [31:23] magically in ways that went even beyond [31:27] my expect ations even beyond what I was [31:30] wishing for myself and so there's a lot [31:33] of science around this um if you're [31:36] audience is wondering there's a [31:37] wonderful book that I recommend you [31:39] reading which is um uh Magic mind from [31:43] uh James Dy is his um is his last book [31:47] where he unpacks all the Neuroscience [31:50] behind all of that but in a [31:53] nutshell the more you leave in an ey [31:56] vibrational state which is the state of [32:00] zeal the state of Happiness the state of [32:03] Joy the state of moving forward the [32:06] state of gratitude the more you will [32:09] start attracting things to [32:11] you you know last year I was doing this [32:15] Zeal talk and I said to [32:18] myself you know what I would love to do [32:20] more talks for Google how would love you [32:23] know artificial intelligence was just [32:25] coming our way and I said I want love to [32:28] to speak more about artificial [32:30] intelligence around the world and around [32:32] the [32:33] spaces after five days I'm not kidding I [32:39] go on our internal job portal I see a [32:43] 20% that they were looking for AI [32:46] evangelists and I'm like [32:49] whoa apply now the reason why I'm saying [32:52] and sharing this detail is that once you [32:55] do all of the work to understand what [32:57] you really do [32:58] and what you really want so once you do [33:00] all of the work to go back to an eye [33:02] vibrational State and be very clear on [33:05] what are your wishes [33:07] are you need to get ready to walk [33:10] through the doors that the Universe are [33:12] going to open for you and I want to say [33:15] this out loud because a lot of people [33:18] once they spend all the time to really [33:21] get crystal clear on their wishes or [33:25] what they're here to meant to accomplish [33:27] in this planet they start missing the [33:30] doors and this is where the awareness [33:32] come back this is where the intuition [33:34] that I was talking at the very beginning [33:36] come back this is where being quiet and [33:39] with yourself comes back you need to do [33:42] the job if we summarize it in three [33:44] steps he like number one you pause to [33:47] understand what you want number two you [33:49] start raising your vibration and [33:51] bringing that Z and then number three [33:53] you start developing the awareness of [33:55] the word around you on how those gifts [33:57] are coming your way [34:00] and look I call it magic other people [34:03] call it quantum others they call it in a [34:07] variety of ways but it's the same other [34:10] people call it also forecasting or [34:12] envisioning or planning we are talk the [34:15] same we are talking about setting your [34:18] mind and setting your intention to get [34:21] somewhere and giving yourself permission [34:24] to get there and allowing others to [34:27] support support and help you so I lived [34:30] my entire life even before my Spiritual [34:33] Awakening in this Spirit but I didn't [34:36] know that I was doing in it because [34:38] before I was simply acting out of [34:40] desperation and ambition and wanting to [34:43] make money and wanting to be successful [34:46] and later in life I was like this is [34:48] what spiritual looks like is about [34:51] tuning in with my inner Goddess that I [34:55] have inside me and my inner drive and [34:59] just accomplish what I meant to be [35:01] accomplishing in this life which is [35:04] reuniting with by purpose we all have a [35:07] purpose to accomplish that's you know if [35:10] you don't believe that we all have a [35:11] purpose maybe this is not the right [35:13] podcast for you but we all agree that we [35:16] all have our purpose then the the the [35:19] job is to finding in it and then [35:20] responding to the call yeah okay you got [35:23] me on something here because I think [35:24] it's what I've been debating with for a [35:26] long time is Imagine like a neston value [35:29] of hierarch a hierarchy of values right [35:31] I've always been battling with what's [35:33] more important like your character Your [35:36] Capacity or your connections because [35:39] they all have different like people a [35:41] lot of people focus on money especially [35:42] in America it's like my capacity first [35:44] worry about money and then I'll worry [35:46] about purpose later and it's almost like [35:47] maso's hierarchy is you need your [35:49] fundamental needs met but it sounds like [35:51] what you're saying and tell me if I'm [35:53] off base here is there's something more [35:55] important than fundamental needs it's [35:57] like you you have an underlaying purpose [35:59] a connect what I would call your [36:01] character but you're what you're called [36:03] to do maybe you're calling but that's [36:05] actually what's going to manifest [36:08] everything else you need in life first [36:10] you set your mind to that and then [36:12] you're going to get everything that you [36:14] everything else will come but you need [36:15] to figure out what that is am I thinking [36:17] of that right or is there another way to [36:19] think of it listen once you understand [36:22] your gifts because we all have unique [36:26] gifts [36:27] once you understand your [36:29] gifts which going back to a point before [36:32] is what are you good at what do you want [36:34] all that once you understand your gifts [36:36] your unique [36:38] Zeals that will [36:41] unlock the [36:43] purpose because if your gift is to be a [36:46] public speaker then your purpose is to [36:49] be here to inspire others if your gift [36:52] is to be an incredibly operational [36:55] speaker then your gift is to grow [36:57] businesses or others now once you know [37:02] your gifts and that brings you to your [37:05] purpose then automatically that opens a [37:10] variety of opportunities and guess what [37:13] they're all connected to money anyways [37:16] because money is energy I've been doing [37:18] a lot of studies around money you know I [37:21] love money uh I remember since I was [37:23] little people be like oh you're always [37:25] talking about money money is so [37:26] important you're like money is a vessel [37:29] you can have as much money as you want [37:31] in life guess what not many people [37:33] believe it I can tell you I never lacked [37:36] money to do what I wanted to do in my [37:39] whole life as crazy as it looks like I [37:41] don't even know where it was coming from [37:43] but sometime somehow was coming now if [37:46] you believe if you have an unshakable [37:50] and unwavering belief that your gifts [37:53] will bring you to your [37:54] purpose that will bring you to meaning [37:58] and that will bring you [37:59] to infinite success which translated can [38:03] be infinite money now if you're [38:07] listening to this podcast think about [38:09] all the people that are [38:11] strangling think about the people that [38:13] somehow in life seem to be attracting [38:17] troubles and I don't want to judge here [38:20] I'm saying this in a very humble way [38:22] think about what are the traits of these [38:25] people most of the time those people [38:28] that come to me with a all these [38:29] challenges I ask very few questions I [38:32] say how do you spend majority of your [38:35] time what are you [38:37] consuming then I start to hear people [38:39] watch horror movies people watch violent [38:42] movies people uh are scrawling and and [38:45] and and you know shutting their brain [38:48] with constant news people are just [38:51] rambling in these endless spirals of [38:54] negativity you I'm like how can you [38:56] expect [38:58] to be attracting opportunities how can [39:00] you expect to see your purpose and your [39:04] meaning if you're not allowing your [39:07] brain your Consciousness your inner self [39:10] to come and tell you what is it that [39:13] you're here to do like if you don't [39:16] allow your spirit to talk to you [39:20] then I cannot [39:22] help on the contrary though I can help [39:25] if you say that you are taking the times [39:28] and the steps to move forward I never [39:31] heard a person that is into the [39:34] transformational space or that is taking [39:36] the time to get better not succeeding at [39:40] that never an ice book with thousands of [39:43] people uh across the globe I never heard [39:47] an individual that is out there trying [39:50] to make magic happen and not succeeding [39:53] maybe it takes more time maybe it's a [39:56] little bit you know not longer it Rome [39:59] wasn't built in a day so it takes time [40:01] but I never heard somebody that was [40:04] connected with their meaning and their [40:05] purpose having a tough time even those [40:08] they are not in our industry you know [40:10] when I think about Farmers when I think [40:12] about people that do it with passion [40:14] when you talk to these people the number [40:16] one thing they say is I love that I get [40:19] to do what gives me more joy and that [40:23] leads to all sort of other [40:26] life life Upstream [40:28] opportunities oh I what you're saying is [40:31] so true because I've been there I've [40:32] been I was in debt broke homeless at one [40:34] time and I wasn't unhappy right I still [40:38] was working towards things I still was [40:39] excited about life and had a purpose [40:42] honestly when I was very financially [40:44] successful at Google I've had moments of [40:46] deeper unhappiness than when I was hope [40:48] homeless because I when I was misaligned [40:50] with my values when I was misalign with [40:51] my purpose and so what you're saying is [40:53] true I can validate it true on so many [40:56] levels and I think what I've been [40:58] meditating on recently and I'm curious [41:00] your thoughts is I feel like so many [41:02] people are walking on let's say imagine [41:04] a path and everyone's walking on this [41:06] path in a dense forest and what I'm [41:10] hearing you say is [41:12] like this path you don't have to walk on [41:15] it like you have a choice to choose like [41:18] yeah there's a forest out there but you [41:19] can go into the forest you can carve out [41:20] a new you can bring out a machete carve [41:22] Into A New Path if you if you notice [41:24] that there's something on the other side [41:26] if you cast a vision it's not going to [41:27] be easy you put your work in but you can [41:29] go to the other side um otherwise you're [41:32] just going to be on the path that's [41:34] someone else set for you someone else [41:36] paved may that be technology that could [41:39] be the news it could be any any one of [41:42] life's distractions so how do you not [41:43] get distracted how do you pick up that [41:47] machete and start carving that path it [41:49] sounds like what you're were saying what [41:50] started that all I want to connect it [41:51] back to the beginning was the journaling [41:53] right it's starting to do the [41:54] reflections predominantly from from your [41:57] exercise am I summarizing this right am [41:58] I going to does that story resonate [42:01] absolutely listen you have to take the [42:05] time to get control [42:09] back it's as simple as that even I I [42:15] have days even this week that when I [42:18] lower my guard and I get trapped in the [42:22] Whirlwind of activities and I get [42:25] trapped in the uh Rat [42:27] race I'm like I need to [42:31] pause especially when my calendar takes [42:34] over when I'm in all these backto backs [42:37] when I'm prioritizing others instead of [42:39] me when I'm prioritizing external [42:42] validation instead of my validation when [42:46] I am falling into the comparison trap of [42:49] this person is ahead of me of this [42:51] person is doing like when all when all [42:53] of our word gets uh captivated by all of [42:57] these uh uh vampires it's very easy to [43:01] fall into the traps we're humans and we [43:04] live in an environment where we're not [43:07] wired for this lifestyle so it does take [43:10] intention what I want to make sure I [43:12] stress is that it's okay to decide to [43:16] live a life on a path that has been [43:19] charted by other people I'm not saying [43:22] that is [43:23] wrong the different is the [43:25] intentionality [43:27] because if you say you know what let's [43:30] make an example I'm just graduating I [43:33] need to get some cash because I need to [43:35] emancipate myself I'm just going to take [43:37] a very good job out there even if it's [43:39] not the job of my dreams and I'll do it [43:42] if you are taking that decision with [43:45] intention I'm totally okay with that but [43:49] if you are taking decisions with a lack [43:52] of intention that's when I say maybe you [43:57] want to pause for a minute and you want [44:00] to reflect and the reason why is because [44:03] the moment you [44:04] say I'm taking this decision I'm staying [44:08] in the corporation for example because [44:10] it connects with my highest purpose it [44:12] connects with the fact that I provide [44:14] for my family connects with other people [44:17] then you're going to find that meaning [44:20] but if you stay in your position and if [44:22] you accept to be in positions in Life or [44:25] at work or whatever it is just because [44:27] you are going with the wave and just [44:29] because you're letting water carry you [44:32] without taking control back that's when [44:36] is going to fight back and saying yeah [44:39] you got to wake up so for me if people [44:41] are wondering and because a lot of [44:43] people ask me but how do I identify [44:46] spiritual burnout for example how do I [44:48] identify that I need to do something how [44:51] I the question I always ask Beck is [44:54] what's your intention telling you are [44:56] you you acting with intention or are you [45:00] just going with it and for the people [45:03] that are in the corporate environment [45:04] you know I I give a very quick um [45:06] example A lot of people have been asking [45:09] me why I'm not director yet after all [45:11] these [45:13] years and uh it's funny I I responded to [45:17] this question one time and I said you [45:18] know I actively decided that I'm not [45:21] going for these roles for now I have two [45:24] young kids I have so much in my [45:28] plate and I have a lot of meaning that [45:31] I'm finding in what I'm [45:33] doing and I'm fine for now and it what [45:38] is so interesting in that is if people [45:40] would have asked me this question before [45:42] even before other promotions I would [45:45] have been like yeah they're not giving [45:46] me the opportunity they're not promoting [45:48] me I would have been so bitter about it [45:50] and then it took a [45:52] very honest and hard conversation with [45:55] myself and saying okay but [45:58] what's your intention here so I really [46:00] encourage people to Noodle on and and [46:02] mull over this question which is what is [46:05] your [46:05] intentionality you know what what is [46:08] your intention telling you oh it's so [46:11] crazy what parallels we have because you [46:12] know doing the CH staff role at Google [46:14] that's then the question I've been gra [46:15] grappling with the last year is do I [46:17] want it is this something that I [46:19] actually wanted or am I just doing what [46:20] other people expect out of me and what's [46:23] really interesting is when you start [46:24] leaning into your authenticity like you [46:26] said it actually helps your career too [46:28] because then people start to you're not [46:30] as competitive you're not doing things [46:32] that are obviously mellan or whatever [46:35] people might perceive as that even if [46:36] that's not your intention you're just [46:38] actually being authentically you and [46:40] people will appreciate it more because [46:42] there's not enough people like that at [46:43] that level so really really awesome [46:46] really interesting that we're having all [46:47] these different parallels I imagine [46:49] you're very busy so I got to start [46:51] wrapping this up otherwise I think I [46:52] could ask you a million more questions [46:54] um so do you want to play a fun real [46:57] quick where I ask you just a few rapid [46:59] fire questions I would love and by the [47:01] way I'm sure you realize now that things [47:04] happen for a reason it's not it's not by [47:06] chance that the two of us met yeah not [47:08] at all it's such a yeah this is an [47:10] Evidence of everything that you're [47:11] saying right is what what's the [47:13] likelihood that you know you you and I [47:15] if you did statistics there's no chance [47:17] you and I would randomly meet both be [47:19] doing such similar things and having [47:20] such similar passions and Avenues in [47:22] life but we met right in this time and [47:24] so it's so it's so awesome so well guess [47:27] finding your Zeal whatever
