Accessibility Statement

Devon Coombs LLC wants everyone to be able to use devoncoombs.com and the Devon Coombs Academy (course.devoncoombs.com), including people who use screen readers, keyboards, switch devices, magnification, and reduced-motion settings. Both sites are built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard used by universities and required for public entities under the 2024 ADA Title II rule.

What is in place

  • Semantic structure: one main heading per page, landmark regions, and a "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page.
  • Keyboard access: every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the focused element is always marked with a visible gold outline.
  • Contrast: body and supporting text meets at least 4.5:1 against its background in both the dark theme and the course light theme.
  • Zoom and reflow: pages can be zoomed to 500% and content reflows to a single column on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Motion: animations and transitions are reduced for visitors who set "reduce motion" in their operating system.
  • Forms: every field has a visible label, errors are announced in text, and the newsletter and contact forms work without a mouse.
  • Media: videos are hosted on YouTube, whose player offers captions, playback speed, and keyboard controls; the page around each video carries the same information in text.
  • Quizzes and exams: the practice final exam timer can be turned off before starting, and no interaction depends on color alone.

Known limitations

  • Video players are provided by YouTube, and some videos rely on YouTube automatic captions. If a caption is inaccurate for a video you need, tell us and a corrected caption file will be prioritized.
  • PDF downloads (the press one-sheet and the facilitator guides) are offered alongside equivalent HTML content, and may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
  • Charts in the calculators and course chapters are drawn as SVG; the underlying numbers are always shown in text next to them.

Report a barrier

If any part of either site is hard to use, email devon@devoncoombs.com with the page address and what happened. You will get a reply within one business day, and the fix or an accessible alternative as quickly as it can be made. Course materials can also be supplied in an alternative format on request.

How this is checked

Pages on both hosts are tested with the axe-core accessibility engine and Lighthouse, then checked by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader, in both the dark theme and the course light theme. This statement was last reviewed in September 2026.
