you need to face your demons you need to face your pains it's almost like Alchemy in order to transform a metal in Gold you have to put it under pressure like you do with diamonds and rocks and humans are the same we need to go through fire to get to the best version of ourselves I used to flatten myself to match this environment and I decided you know what down with it so I started showing up with colorful outfits I
started showing up with my Italian accent I started showing up with my bold statements hey everybody I'm Devin kums I'm a CPA MBA and I work at Google Cloud Where I Leave multi-billion Dollar Deal negotiations as a financial expert but for fun I also do this podcast ambition aligned where I try to find purpose-driven professionals making real impact with what they're doing in their lives and today I had the pleasure of talking to Nadia now she's really
awesome I'm really excited to have her on she's the head of data analytics for Google but she's also launching a new book called find your Zeal and does coaching and does tons of speaking engagements and podcasts where she encourages others to reflect on themselves find their passion and transform their careers please watch please subscribe and I think we're going to get a ton out of today's episode if you're interested in transforming your career through reflection and defining your vision what would you say would was
your biggest motivation for all of the Transformations you've had over your career thank you for the question very deep one I would say when I think about what motivates humans there are so many reasons they can be laid out there right somebody might just want success other people might want more money when I think about me I was always I was always driven by an unwar in
ambition something that was uncontrollable and those in the spiritual industry like I am that really poke around what's more than just life my say that is about life purpose like I fundamentally believe that all the things that happened to me happened for a reason and it's almost like there was this invisible hand driving me and showing me the way I mean listen I grew
up in an island 12 you know 12,000 people nobody in my family had brilliant careers I was surrounded by farmers and it's not that I had these examples that we could say oh my God you know I want to be like them I mean my mom was probably a little bit one of the precursors because she was already in sales but I was always pulled by something inside
that was literally whispering to my ears there's something more and you you must use your powers to get there and see what happens if that makes sense yeah so how did you hear that voice or I guess like I'm trying to think of someone in the audience or what is a way that they can tune into that or how did you tune into that voice because that's so interesting right that that there's something driving you beyond
what was in front of you or modeled for you in your life there was something whispering in your ear how do you how did you tune into that yeah well you know initially when I was younger let's say around my My Teenage life uh that voice I I like to call it was a voice of hope I know you can relate to this but when at the time I didn't have what I have today the voice of Hope was showing me
that there was something more that I could aspire to and actually I said something in our conversation with a friend I do remember very vividly being 16 years old and being able to access the internet and stumbling across Steve Jobs Stanford commencement speech when he was saying stay hungry and stay foolish and those four words stayed with me forever back then because because I
really was feeling that hunger and that foolishness to go something beyond what I had in time other voices that were whispering to me were sometimes desperation when I was facing huge life challenges the voice of desperation would whisper to me hey you need to get out of here or hate or something more or you need to fight for your SA and then you know later in
life the voice that started whispering to me was more a voice of love a voice of empowerment and even at times a voice of forgiveness now going back to your original question how do I eventually started listening to that more is by getting quieter and by getting uh with myself a lot more you know nowadays everybody speaks about meditation um nowadays uh there's a lot of talk about connecting
to your inner Spirit connecting to your inner self what I found made the trick for me is that I've always been a very Avid journaler I retrieved some of my journals from when I was a teenager as I'm writing my Memoir and it really stunned me that already then I was connecting with this force that eventually was my inner Force and and talking and unpacking and unpacking
aligning with what my highest purpose we so I really encourage the listeners of this podcast to create space for yourself and quieting the word around to you know tune in with your louder inner voice I I love it so I want to make sure I'm hearing this right if I play back at you it's almost reflection right it's that that pen grab that pen allowed you to connect and actually listen to that
voice if I and that's sparked your transformation or at least made it go faster I is that am I on the right track here yeah there's many way of calling it right some people call it intuition some people call it spiritual guidance according to your line of interest in life y you can call it in many different ways can be reflection obviously others they call it
Consciousness but is absolutely creating the space either by yourself or aided by a therapist or aided by a coach or aided by a friend as well to untangle what's in your mind and untangle what is in your heart and then say okay well this is where I'm going and and this is how I want to be the largest um and bigger version of myself now I don't want to sugar coat that is painful when four years ago I had my latest let's say
transformation and what I call my Spiritual Awakening was extremely painful you need to face your demons you need to face your pains it's almost like Alchemy in order to transform a metal in Gold you have to put it under pressure like you do with diamonds and rocks and humans are the same we are the same uh we need to go through fire to get to the best version of ourselves and heal and so for me when I think about personal
transformation is about doing the hard work and allowing yourself to see through who you really are and who do you want to be if that makes sense yeah it makes perfect sense and I'm I'm curious how did you figure out who you wanted to be like how did you set that intention after reflecting the two to me there seem like two very different aspects of who who am I but then what am I working towards beautiful question I'll I'll
share a little story that was the Catalyst for these specific moment in time so we all went through covid and we all went through some rough more or less days some people loved it more than others some people had ginormous mansions that they can quarantine into other people like me were in two-bedroom apartments with very young kids um some people were working from moms and people were able
no to so everybody went through different flavors and shades of that and at the time I had just moved to New York with my family from Italy I had a 9 month old and a two years old um uh kid or baby a toddlers I don't even know how to call them but let's say two very challenging individuals that I needed to deal would called my daughters and I was new to New York I had taken the decision to move from Italy so it was a very big decision right and I was taking work
very seriously as I always do and do you remember at the time uh we were all remote at Google I was joining calls as early as a and I was working until 6:00 p.m. I was grinding so much when I think about it I don't even understand why I was being so intense with myself but that's how I was and I started observing some of my behaviors I was always so angry I was so upset I didn't have what
I used to have when in in my Google career that I would travel and meet people and I'm a extroverted introvert so I do love being with people to a certain extent you know I love going to the office and really helps with my well-being and all of that and after few months of these grinding I remember was around January 2021 so winter was so cold we couldn't go out
and I started having daily meltdowns I remember writing in my journal that I was upset at everybody I was upset with my husband I was upset with my kids I was screaming with everybody it was like awful all over the place and uh one day I was with my therapist because I was like you know I need I need to start seeing someone this is overwhelming I can't get out of it and I was seeing my therapist at Google we have all these incredible benefits and I said listen this this is going on this this is going on and you know she
was asking me questions about my family and you know unpacking a lot of the traumas and all of that and she goes well listen as a mom you really need to take care of of this she was like you you can't continue this way for your kids I mean this could result in scrutiny and even getting your kids away at some point like you really need to get you know you're acted together in a way and that for me was the Rock Bottom I was like I can't
continue like this I I really need to find a way out and I started turning Inward and I started exploring what else is there that I could could do and I started prioritizing myself you know I started saying no to people and I said I really need to get out of this loophole like I I felt it was in a dark tunnel and I decided to hire a lifestyle coach um you know Mesa was incredible
and she gave me permission to look my nightmares in the face and she gave me permission to stand up for myself self heal and start a very long journey of Spiritual Awakening so I know it's a lot so I'm going to pause but this is how it all begin no and thank you for sharing and I completely understand I had a young child during Co too my daughter as well and so it's interesting I'm thinking
about how you said to make diamonds you need pressure and it sounded like to me that was the environment that you were in where you finally maybe were on autopilot for a bit and doing what was natural to you grinding at work at this high level of success and then this extra pressure comes in of covid it seems like life throws everything at you covid young kids small apartment I live in the bay we had a small place too it's like the perfect recipe for just being under pressure and it sounds like you're
coming out transform transformatively on the other side of it and what was what was was that moment that got you to commit to going to a lifestyle coach that got you to see the other side of it was it something from your past that of a reflection from your past or was it an intention you set for the future you know what I did back then is that I looked back in my life and I
looked back at the all the achievements and all of the grinding and all of the success that I had achieved and I looked at the Young self that I was it's funny because it's coming to my mind the image of Jennifer Lopez movie the one where she uh goes and meet her younger self and she asks her and she cries but it was pretty much like that it was pretty much a moment where I looked back and I said wow I didn't I
didn't arrive this far for nothing after even moving to New York I mean I I lived in countries I traveled the world and had this two wonderful babies a wonderful husband I looked at my life I I transcended myself for a few moments and I said I got to do something I can't waste all of this these are things that people dream of these are things that I myself have always dreamed of these are things that I had planned I
had manifested for myself that I made happen for myself and I how silly would it be to waste it all just for not taking ownership of my flaws and fixing them and so in that moment when I was unpacking with my coach I said I got to do something I I got to go back to protecting all the greatness that I have and I got to do something to really get out of this hump
this ginormous hump and funnily enough what really helped me to get the courage where the feedback from my audience you know I was already out there I that was the moment where when I was sharing on social media some of my pain and um there were so many people rooting for me there were so many people that were reaching out saying hey thanks for your work we get courage thanks to your example we have hope and I remember
having a conversation with mess I B in my coach and I said wait a moment I said I think that this is my life purpose like if all of this is floating my way if all of this is coming my way that means that I have the responsibility to rise and stand up as an example for many others at the time I was gifting coaching session to googlers and um I remember every week I was seeing you know three four people to support it was my way to help the people
through covid and people were inundating me with messages on how even 15 minutes with me were shaping their day how thanks to something that I had said they were getting more courage so all of that really contributed to give me the courage to say you know what I got to rise I can't put myself in a corner my mission in this world is more than that I got to use my voice is
to lift others as I lift myself and make an impact into the planet wow that's I mean that's huge to go from you're already so successful at Google but then using this moment of pressure to actually start making some actions it sounds like you were taking actions on sharing your story which requires a lot of vulnerability and it's not an easy to press that button right and start sharing how intense these emotions can be right and and sounds
like people leaned into that and really understood it and it motivated you so I'm hearing like about Connections leading into your character and authenticity what were some of the first behaviors that you started to do to head down this New Path yeah I remember very clearly that one of the first thing I did was really leaning into my real self which I no sounds a a
little bit weird but let me unpack it you know until then I was very corporate like very serious very organized you know operationally everything I was the epitome of perfection I would say and even even if inside I was feeling like exhausted or that I needed a break and things like that so the number one thing that I did was showing up more
authentically like start starting to being open about my flaws and my challenges and sharing with people hey you know what I'm having a bad day or hey you know what like things are a little on the wrong side today you know I'm extremely Moody I was diagnosed with gener GDA which is general anxiety and for all the women listening to this of being diagnosed with pmdd which is this uh premenstrual depression so mental
health is something that for me is very high in the list of things that I care for and I started talking about it with people and say you know what it's okay if you're having a day so really leaning into the authentic Spirit um very much ber Brown was one thing that I did and then the second thing that I did is I gave myself permission to be Nadia which I know it might sound weird but I like Google I'm in Tech so I deal
with data measurement analytics topics which most of the time translate in being in a rooms of male that are dressing in black and white and they're not very Smiley and I am typically the female factor and I used to flatten myself to match this environment and I decided you know what done with it so I started showing up with colorful outfits I started showing up with my Italian accent I started
showing up with my bold statements and I remember so well one day there was a CEO of my client you know I service a very large client globally and uh he approached me and he said Nadia when you're in the room everything shines and you bring such eye energy and eye vibration that it's such a pleasure to do business with you and I was like wow you know be
myself is giving so many upsides to everybody out there and so by leaning in into what really was I was like okay you know let's do it there you know I show up in sequence and Feathers sometimes and meetings and and that makes everybody happy and then the third thing that I did I said you know what I'm just going to be out there and so the two tactical things that I started doing well three tactical things I started being more
outspoken on social media I was like you know what I have nothing to lose so let's do it I created a podcast of my own with a with a Google friend to talk about human leadership and I built my website coming out of the closet as an intuitive person that loves spirituality and esoteric things and and giving space to all of this in the corporate environment to really help people to connect with your purpose because I believe that in our
corporate environment we have the responsibility to be more than just technology we have the responsibility to create environment that are uplifting for everybody because we spend so much time at work like we spend two-thirds of our days so what are we doing you know we need to build an environment where people can be happy show up and be the best version of themselves and so for a for a moment in time I used to have this
tagline on LinkedIn which was I transform lives and Corporation to generate Z for life and I'm like that's what that's what it is you know that's what we're here to do we're all here to live our life that is fulfilling and Corporation must to be must be part of it and have an active role all this stuff is resonating so deeply with me and it's so amazing what you did and I love the word zeal like passion comes to mind or and it sounds
like that's what you did and I think what's really interesting it it reminds me a bit of what I'm been going through recently it's so easy to kind of once you go to the corporate mold to try to fit the mold because it leads to success right but then at some point everyone's living as copies of each other it's like AI or social media right everyone's just a chat GPT excerpt of another person and just by being yourself being authentic you weren't saying you were working less you weren't saying that you were changing up your strategies there at all it just you started being yourself more
and that was your differentiator that's what was your Niche it no one else can be you right you're unapologetically you and that is so awesome and important for people to hear that that might be the Catalyst for career transformation right is just be yourself so here's a here's a dooy for you how do you be more of yourself how did you go through that Journey yeah this is a very good question I mean
listen is a lot harder to be yourself than a washed up version of somebody else especially if you are someone that has veryable old ideas a differentiated way of showing up you know I'm an immigrant in America my accent is far from perfect I presented yesterday in front of our president at Google and everybody made
fun of me for how I pronounce automobile which still today like H that's a terrible word for me to say and you know I'm Italian I'm a little louder than the average like I I carry with me I vibrate ational energy that cannot be ignored like when I'm in a room you know that I'm in the room even if I'm quiet like it it exudes from my body and and so it it's a little hard to be that because you can't hide and
when you try to hide then things don't go in the direction and they need to go and my biggest encouragement to people that are on the journey especially those that are early in their careers you know yes spoke with this uh students from a college is take the time to fully unpack what makes you what are the traits in my book that I will be publishing this summer there's
a wonderful exercise that I've wrote which is about spending time to find your extraordinary signator Zeals I call it which means those traits those those aspects those behaviors that make you and this morning I was in a meeting for example and when they were talking I had this download that was like well Nadia what
what is it for you being you like when you are in your Genius Zone here's a question that you can ask yourself when you are in your Genius Zone that you feel you are in the flow that you feel you are align that you feel you good at all what is it that you're doing and for me the answer was I'm using my voice I'm using my voice to uplift others I'm using my voice to help others I'm using my voice to transform the word
around me and I said okay if using my voice is what I do when I'm in my genius Zone what does that mean for for a work perspective for example it my means that I cannot be in a role where I just need to write code or I just need to feel trixes right I need to be in roles where I can use my voice and so these are some of the questions that you can start asking yourself either in a self-reflecting way or with a coach or with a friend there
are so many self-help books out there that you can leverage but really meditating on this concept of what are the things that you're doing when you are in your Genius Zone what do people say about you still is always one of my favorite and what are the things that are also painful for you and the reason why I typically ask myself that is because we say yes to too many things that are not aligned with our genius
Zone and the reason why we say yes is because we don't spend the time understanding what is it that is a pain for us and so we get carried away and we just say yes so by fully understanding what is painful for you you are able to develop a faster reaction to the things that you need to say no because part of the critical step that everybody needs to do more is what I call protecting your Zeal
or shielding yourself from what I call Energy vampires these are people these are activity these are things that are coming your way the news for example certain social media content certain movies all things that are just draining your powers so by actively spending time to do these practices you know I self- coach myself every day I I took my first coaching certification in
2019 and since then not not only I have coaches that work with me but I continue to self- coach myself constantly because by developing the awareness of all these things that I shared above you develop the ability to adjust your behavior awareness is Step number one adjustment is Step number two and step number three is reiteration of the positive reinforcement so I know I I throw it a lot in there I'm going to pause uh but this is definitely a very
meaty topic that I'm super passionate about well it's it's awesome and I feel like I can talk to you for hours because everything I'm looking into right now is so similar to what you're exploring and what I think is really fascinating is we demand or you're challenge to everyone to really dive in and understand themselves and that takes time you're not saying it's easy and I find the same I do coaching at Google too and I do a lot of external events and I'm finding a lot of people will come to me and say
I'm trying to get a job at Google or I'm trying to get a job or I'm trying to get a promotion and if you ask them why like what what's driving you so many people haven't done that exploration and they don't want to it's really tough to just start digging under the surface and it sounds like your book is going to be an amazing tool to help explore that more and so I'm curious I want you to continue because it's just so fascinating you talked about iterating it sounded like or iterating on your positive positivity what did you say there and what what does that look like
on for someone specifically let's say trying to find the right next job for them similar to you starting to publish out outside of just working at Google yeah look my one of my values one of my life beliefs is that the word is made of vibrational forces you know I'm one of those that believes in the secret I'm one of those
that reads and studies Deepak Chopra but I'm also one of those that listens to Dr uberman Dr James doie I'm one of those that reads atle and Wayne Dyer and all of these right those are like my best virtual friends in a way and and the reason why is that I tested it on my skin I tested it on my life I went back here's a fun fact I went back to one of my uh life
planning documents that I've written in 2013 so I'm talking about 12 years ago and you know I found it in my drive and I'm looking at the things that I'm written that I wanted to achieve and the goals that I was setting for myself 15 years from then and I'm like this is not possible like this is so crazy I was already manifesting back then the things that I wanted to attract in my life and for some reason everything happened
magically in ways that went even beyond my expect ations even beyond what I was wishing for myself and so there's a lot of science around this um if you're audience is wondering there's a wonderful book that I recommend you reading which is um uh Magic mind from uh James Dy is his um is his last book where he unpacks all the Neuroscience behind all of that but in a
nutshell the more you leave in an ey vibrational state which is the state of zeal the state of Happiness the state of Joy the state of moving forward the state of gratitude the more you will start attracting things to you you know last year I was doing this Zeal talk and I said to myself you know what I would love to do more talks for Google how would love you
know artificial intelligence was just coming our way and I said I want love to to speak more about artificial intelligence around the world and around the spaces after five days I'm not kidding I go on our internal job portal I see a 20% that they were looking for AI evangelists and I'm like whoa apply now the reason why I'm saying and sharing this detail is that once you
do all of the work to understand what you really do and what you really want so once you do all of the work to go back to an eye vibrational State and be very clear on what are your wishes are you need to get ready to walk through the doors that the Universe are going to open for you and I want to say this out loud because a lot of people once they spend all the time to really get crystal clear on their wishes or
what they're here to meant to accomplish in this planet they start missing the doors and this is where the awareness come back this is where the intuition that I was talking at the very beginning come back this is where being quiet and with yourself comes back you need to do the job if we summarize it in three steps he like number one you pause to understand what you want number two you start raising your vibration and bringing that Z and then number three you start developing the awareness of
the word around you on how those gifts are coming your way and look I call it magic other people call it quantum others they call it in a variety of ways but it's the same other people call it also forecasting or envisioning or planning we are talk the same we are talking about setting your mind and setting your intention to get somewhere and giving yourself permission to get there and allowing others to
support support and help you so I lived my entire life even before my Spiritual Awakening in this Spirit but I didn't know that I was doing in it because before I was simply acting out of desperation and ambition and wanting to make money and wanting to be successful and later in life I was like this is what spiritual looks like is about tuning in with my inner Goddess that I have inside me and my inner drive and
just accomplish what I meant to be accomplishing in this life which is reuniting with by purpose we all have a purpose to accomplish that's you know if you don't believe that we all have a purpose maybe this is not the right podcast for you but we all agree that we all have our purpose then the the the job is to finding in it and then responding to the call yeah okay you got me on something here because I think it's what I've been debating with for a long time is Imagine like a neston value
of hierarch a hierarchy of values right I've always been battling with what's more important like your character Your Capacity or your connections because they all have different like people a lot of people focus on money especially in America it's like my capacity first worry about money and then I'll worry about purpose later and it's almost like maso's hierarchy is you need your fundamental needs met but it sounds like what you're saying and tell me if I'm off base here is there's something more important than fundamental needs it's like you you have an underlaying purpose
a connect what I would call your character but you're what you're called to do maybe you're calling but that's actually what's going to manifest everything else you need in life first you set your mind to that and then you're going to get everything that you everything else will come but you need to figure out what that is am I thinking of that right or is there another way to think of it listen once you understand your gifts because we all have unique gifts once you understand your
gifts which going back to a point before is what are you good at what do you want all that once you understand your gifts your unique Zeals that will unlock the purpose because if your gift is to be a public speaker then your purpose is to be here to inspire others if your gift is to be an incredibly operational speaker then your gift is to grow businesses or others now once you know
your gifts and that brings you to your purpose then automatically that opens a variety of opportunities and guess what they're all connected to money anyways because money is energy I've been doing a lot of studies around money you know I love money uh I remember since I was little people be like oh you're always talking about money money is so important you're like money is a vessel you can have as much money as you want in life guess what not many people
believe it I can tell you I never lacked money to do what I wanted to do in my whole life as crazy as it looks like I don't even know where it was coming from but sometime somehow was coming now if you believe if you have an unshakable and unwavering belief that your gifts will bring you to your purpose that will bring you to meaning and that will bring you to infinite success which translated can
be infinite money now if you're listening to this podcast think about all the people that are strangling think about the people that somehow in life seem to be attracting troubles and I don't want to judge here I'm saying this in a very humble way think about what are the traits of these people most of the time those people that come to me with a all these challenges I ask very few questions I say how do you spend majority of your
time what are you consuming then I start to hear people watch horror movies people watch violent movies people uh are scrawling and and and and you know shutting their brain with constant news people are just rambling in these endless spirals of negativity you I'm like how can you expect to be attracting opportunities how can you expect to see your purpose and your meaning if you're not allowing your
brain your Consciousness your inner self to come and tell you what is it that you're here to do like if you don't allow your spirit to talk to you then I cannot help on the contrary though I can help if you say that you are taking the times and the steps to move forward I never heard a person that is into the transformational space or that is taking the time to get better not succeeding at
that never an ice book with thousands of people uh across the globe I never heard an individual that is out there trying to make magic happen and not succeeding maybe it takes more time maybe it's a little bit you know not longer it Rome wasn't built in a day so it takes time but I never heard somebody that was connected with their meaning and their purpose having a tough time even those they are not in our industry you know
when I think about Farmers when I think about people that do it with passion when you talk to these people the number one thing they say is I love that I get to do what gives me more joy and that leads to all sort of other life life Upstream opportunities oh I what you're saying is so true because I've been there I've been I was in debt broke homeless at one time and I wasn't unhappy right I still was working towards things I still was excited about life and had a purpose
honestly when I was very financially successful at Google I've had moments of deeper unhappiness than when I was hope homeless because I when I was misaligned with my values when I was misalign with my purpose and so what you're saying is true I can validate it true on so many levels and I think what I've been meditating on recently and I'm curious your thoughts is I feel like so many people are walking on let's say imagine a path and everyone's walking on this path in a dense forest and what I'm hearing you say is
like this path you don't have to walk on it like you have a choice to choose like yeah there's a forest out there but you can go into the forest you can carve out a new you can bring out a machete carve Into A New Path if you if you notice that there's something on the other side if you cast a vision it's not going to be easy you put your work in but you can go to the other side um otherwise you're just going to be on the path that's someone else set for you someone else paved may that be technology that could be the news it could be any any one of
life's distractions so how do you not get distracted how do you pick up that machete and start carving that path it sounds like what you're were saying what started that all I want to connect it back to the beginning was the journaling right it's starting to do the reflections predominantly from from your exercise am I summarizing this right am I going to does that story resonate absolutely listen you have to take the time to get control back it's as simple as that even I I
have days even this week that when I lower my guard and I get trapped in the Whirlwind of activities and I get trapped in the uh Rat race I'm like I need to pause especially when my calendar takes over when I'm in all these backto backs when I'm prioritizing others instead of me when I'm prioritizing external validation instead of my validation when
I am falling into the comparison trap of this person is ahead of me of this person is doing like when all when all of our word gets uh captivated by all of these uh uh vampires it's very easy to fall into the traps we're humans and we live in an environment where we're not wired for this lifestyle so it does take intention what I want to make sure I stress is that it's okay to decide to
live a life on a path that has been charted by other people I'm not saying that is wrong the different is the intentionality because if you say you know what let's make an example I'm just graduating I need to get some cash because I need to emancipate myself I'm just going to take a very good job out there even if it's not the job of my dreams and I'll do it if you are taking that decision with intention I'm totally okay with that but
if you are taking decisions with a lack of intention that's when I say maybe you want to pause for a minute and you want to reflect and the reason why is because the moment you say I'm taking this decision I'm staying in the corporation for example because it connects with my highest purpose it connects with the fact that I provide for my family connects with other people then you're going to find that meaning
but if you stay in your position and if you accept to be in positions in Life or at work or whatever it is just because you are going with the wave and just because you're letting water carry you without taking control back that's when is going to fight back and saying yeah you got to wake up so for me if people are wondering and because a lot of people ask me but how do I identify spiritual burnout for example how do I identify that I need to do something how
I the question I always ask Beck is what's your intention telling you are you you acting with intention or are you just going with it and for the people that are in the corporate environment you know I I give a very quick um example A lot of people have been asking me why I'm not director yet after all these years and uh it's funny I I responded to this question one time and I said you know I actively decided that I'm not
going for these roles for now I have two young kids I have so much in my plate and I have a lot of meaning that I'm finding in what I'm doing and I'm fine for now and it what is so interesting in that is if people would have asked me this question before even before other promotions I would have been like yeah they're not giving me the opportunity they're not promoting me I would have been so bitter about it and then it took a
very honest and hard conversation with myself and saying okay but what's your intention here so I really encourage people to Noodle on and and mull over this question which is what is your intentionality you know what what is your intention telling you oh it's so crazy what parallels we have because you know doing the CH staff role at Google that's then the question I've been gra grappling with the last year is do I want it is this something that I actually wanted or am I just doing what other people expect out of me and what's
really interesting is when you start leaning into your authenticity like you said it actually helps your career too because then people start to you're not as competitive you're not doing things that are obviously mellan or whatever people might perceive as that even if that's not your intention you're just actually being authentically you and people will appreciate it more because there's not enough people like that at that level so really really awesome really interesting that we're having all these different parallels I imagine you're very busy so I got to start wrapping this up otherwise I think I could ask you a million more questions
um so do you want to play a fun real quick where I ask you just a few rapid fire questions I would love and by the way I'm sure you realize now that things happen for a reason it's not it's not by chance that the two of us met yeah not at all it's such a yeah this is an Evidence of everything that you're saying right is what what's the likelihood that you know you you and I if you did statistics there's no chance you and I would randomly meet both be doing such similar things and having such similar passions and Avenues in life but we met right in this time and
so it's so it's so awesome so well guess finding your Zeal whatever whatever the positivity and the vibrations are on point for this one I love it um so with that I want to just to get to know you a little bit better just as a regular person what's your favorite dessert oh my God I'm not a dessert person but when I must have it I'm a terisu person I'm Italian so okay terisu then okay what's your favorite Savory dish C if you're a Savory person oh my God I love pizza what kind of pizza what kind of
pizza pizza's good but you know I'm a buffalo mozzarella with some basil on top is the best okay beautiful I've been in Italy before Roman like getting that just like the classic you know almost like thrown in a toaster it's so good um okay what is your favorite uh book on purpose that you've read recently I will be forever a lover of the Wayne Dyer the power of intention it's a book that I listen over and over and over I already listen it four times
highly recommended okay I love that and then I I'll check it out I haven't read it so that's going to be a great ad for my list what is a piece of advice that you think people should stop giving oh my God a piece of advice that people should stop leaving oh I know that one you know when they say you only leave once I'm like you don't really only leave once what is true is that you need to make your current life a masterpiece but you got to believing many other
times yeah I love it even in this life I've lived multiple lives at this point right we have so many paths and avenues I love that one um let me think that's another one what is the favorite job you've had in your whole career what's the favorite career job you've had or held oh my god there was one time I was head of core infrastructure GTM I I was in my third 30s and I was
traveling the world I was on stage every week in a different country presenting to client and sellers was the toughest job that I have but also the most exhilarating and the one that I loved the most that's awesome that sounds really fun and then what's the most fun thing you do on the side when you're not when you're not working when you're not doing the million prash passion projects the podcast the book The speaking engagements what what fills you up yeah
I won't I will I'm gonna say I hope your audience is ready I actually have it in front of me um are you ready for this I'm surp I'm excited now yep so I'm a Tarot reader and I read cards and I just got a new deck today so I just pulled a card for your audience it's called wisdom number 22 uh which I find incredibly in line with what we're doing that's cool when when we meet in person I actually really that' be cool
I've never had that done before if You' be interested that could be a lot of fun if it's fun for you um okay and then last thing now imagine I'm G to put you on the platform you're going to make a you your a YouTube short the most impactful YouTube short you've ever made that's going to change lives 10 seconds to a minute what would you say this is your shot PR your gut because chances are that whatever is telling you is true I dig it it leans into that authenticity that we've been talking about all along
